Kansas Adds Enabulele to Women’s Basketball Roster for 2014-15

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women’s basketball head coach Bonnie Henrickson announced Thursday the addition of Lorraine Enabulele to the Jayhawks’ roster for the 2014-15 season. Enabulele signed a valid National Letter of Intent to play for KU.

Enabulele, a 6-1 forward from Ajax, Ontario, Canada, lettered in basketball and volleyball at Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School. During the 2013 season, she helped the Cougars to a district title on the hardwood. Enabulele was named Athlete of the Year in 2011 and 2012 and was on the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) High School All-Star team. Enabulele was also a member of the GTA 20-point club after scoring 20 or more points on three occasions.

“Lorraine embraces being physical and that’s a strength of hers,” said Henrickson. “She will bring physicality to the paint and the post position. She is 6-1, but has a 6-6 wing span, so she has length and runs the floor well. She’s a young lady that has a lot passion for the game.”

Enabulele prepped with the Advantage Titans, a provincial team, which plays in the Juel League. With the Titans, Enabulele averaged 15.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, while shooting 51.1 percent from the field, which was the second-best field goal percentage in the league. From 2012-14, she was among the top-five rebounders and top-10 scorers in the Juel League. Enabulele was a 2013-14 Juel All-Star and the MVP of the 2013 Centennial Classic.

Enabulele joins Lauren Aldridge, Terriell Bradley, Chayla Cheadle and Timeka O’Neal in the Jayhawks’ 2014 recruiting class.
