Kansas Football 2014 Media Guide Now Available

LAWRENCE, Kan. — In advance of Kansas football kicking off its fall camp Thursday, the 2014 Kansas football media guide is now available for purchase and online viewing. The media guide features player bios, coaching staff bios, opponent information, a 2013 season review, the Kansas football record book and a history section.

Several members of the 2014 team are featured on the front cover of the media guide, along with the motto for this season: “One Team. One Chant.”  
 
The inside front cover is devoted to senior linebacker Ben Heeney. Heeney, who is also featured on the website CaptainHeeney.com, has picked up preseason First Team All-Big 12 honors from the conference media, Sporting News, Athlon Sports and Phil Steele Magazine, with The Sporting News also listing him as a preseason Third Team All-America honoree. Additionally, Heeney was named to the Nagurski, Bednarik, Butkus and Lombardi Awards Watch lists.
 
Kansas football’s 2013 All-Big 12 honorees, including senior offensive lineman Ngalu Fusimalohi, junior safety Isaiah Johnson, senior tight end Jimmay Mundine, senior punter/kicker Trevor Pardula and senior cornerback/kick returner JaCorey Shepherd are featured on the back cover, along with the 2014 schedule.
 
The inside back cover of the media guide is dedicated to Kansas football’s involvement with the Hannah and Friends organization, which was founded by KU head coach Charlie Weis and his wife, Maura, in recognition of their daughter, Hannah. The mission of Hannah and Friends is to improve the quality of life for the children and adults with special needs.
 
Kansas football opens 2014 fall camp Thursday, with the first practice taking place Friday, Aug. 8. The Jayhawks will hold their first full-pad practice on Tuesday, Aug. 12. Other notable dates during fall camp include: the first two-a-day practice, Wednesday, Aug. 13; Fan Appreciation Day, Saturday, Aug. 16 (1:30 p.m.); and KU Kickoff at Corinth Square, Friday, Aug. 22 (6 p.m.).
 
Kansas will open the 2014 season by hosting Southeast Missouri State on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m., in Memorial Stadium. Tickets are available by contacting the Kansas Ticket Office via KUAthletics.com or by calling 800-34-HAWKS.
