Homecoming Football Game vs. Texas Set For 3 p.m., Kickoff

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas football will open Big 12 Conference play when it plays host to the Texas Longhorns in the annual Homecoming weekend football game at 3 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 27. The game will be televised on Fox Sports 1, the Big 12 Conference announced on Monday.

The contest versus Texas will mark the Jayhawks’ first appearance on FOX Sports 1 in 2014, after making five appearances on the newly launched network in 2013.

Kansas will be taking on Texas for the 14th time in the history of the two programs. The Longhorns lead the Jayhawks, 11-2, all time and, 5-2, in games played in Lawrence. Kansas won the first two meetings between the two schools, but has not defeated Texas since a 19-18 victory in 1938.

KU plays host to Central Michigan in its final non-conference game of the 2014 campaign. The Jayhawks and Chippewas will kick off at 2:30 p.m., in Memorial Stadium, with a live broadcast slated for FOX Sports Net Regional.
