Gardner Earns More Postseason Accolades

TAMPA BAY – The awards continue to come in for Kansas senior forward Chelsea Gardner, who was named a 2015 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association All-America Honorable Mention selection on Saturday afternoon, as announced by the WBCA at the Women’s Final Four.

Gardner’s WBCA accolade marks the second All-America honorable mention honor after also being named an Associated Press All-America Honorable mention honoree. Prior to collecting All-America honorable mention distinction from the WBCA, Gardner was named to the WBCA All-Region team and an All-Big 12 First Team honoree.

The De Soto, Texas native concluded her collegiate career in the Crimson and Blue as the 27th Jayhawk to score over 1,000 career points. She amassed 1,516 points in her four-year career, which is 12th all-time in Kansas women’s basketball history.

During the 2014-15 campaign, Gardner registered a team-best 16.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game. She netted double figures in 16 of her last 17 games at Kansas and totaled double-digit scoring efforts in all but four contests.
