Second-Annual Movie Night at Memorial Stadium Presented by Boston Financial Set for June 2

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas Athletics will open Memorial Stadium on Thursday, June 2 for the second-consecutive year for fans to bring their blankets and pillows and enjoy a free movie on the stadium videoboard as it is hosting Movie Night at Memorial Stadium presented by Boston Financial. 

The gates for Movie Night at Memorial Stadium will open at 5 p.m., and admission is free. Attendees will be able to enjoy the Fun Zone, which includes inflatable games, at the north end of Kivisto Field from 5-6:45 p.m., while the movie will start at 7 p.m.  A variety of concession items will be available for purchase throughout the evening, and all guests will be allowed to bring in one unopened bottle of water. 
 
Seating for the movie will be available on Kivisto Field with guests encouraged to bring their own pillows and blankets. Chairs will not be allowed on the playing surface. Bleacher and limited mobility seating will also be available in Memorial Stadium.
 
As for what movie will be shown, fans will make that determination as they will vote between three movies. Last year over selected “The Lego Movie” and over 1,000 fans blanketed Kivisto Field to watch.
 
Voting will being on Monday, April 18 and conclude on Sunday, May 1 at 5 p.m. Fans can vote by going to http://kuathletics.com/movie. By casting their vote fans will also be entered to win a Family 4-Pack of tickets to the 2016 Kansas Football home game of their choice.  Fans can only vote one time and will choose between the following three movie options:
 
“Finding Nemo” is a 2003 American computer-animated comedy-drama adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It tells the story of the overprotective clownfish named Marlin who, along with a regal tang named Dory, searches for his abducted son Nemo all the way to Sydney Harbour. Along the way, Marlin learns to take risks and let Nemo take care of himself.  The much-anticipated sequel, Finding Dory, will be released in theaters on June 17.
 
“Minions” is a 2015 computer-animated family comedy directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, written by Brian Lynch and distributed by Universal Pictures.  It features the voices of Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton, Allison Janney and Steve Coogan.  It is a prequel to the Despicable Me films and follows the adventures of minions Kevin, Stauart and Bob.
 
“Toy Story” is a 1995 film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Directed by John Lasseter, “Toy Story” was the first feature-length computer-animated film and the first theatrical film produced by Pixar. “Toy Story” follows a group of anthropomorphic toys who pretend to be lifeless whenever humans are present, and focuses on the relationship between Woody, a pull-string cowboy doll and Buzz Lightyear, an astronaut action figure.
