Weather puts UCA Invitational schedule in limbo

Updated at 5:40 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Kansas softball’s schedule at the University of Central Arkansas Invitational has been modified by heavy rain in Conway, Arkansas this weekend.

On Thursday afternoon, Central Arkansas announced that Friday morning’s games have been postponed.

KU’s game on Friday against Stephen F. Austin will be pushed back to a 4 p.m. first pitch. Stephen F. Austin replaced Boise State in the event after Boise State chose not to travel to Arkansas this weekend.

Friday’s games are subject to change. UCA officials will evaluate conditions mid-day Friday to determine if games can be played at Farris Field, an artificial surface.

The National Weather Service has declared Conway and the central Arkansas region in a flood watch until early Sunday morning.

On Monday, Feb. 20, UCA postponed the start of the event from Thursday to Friday due to forecasted rain.
