Kansas men rank No. 10 in USTFCCCA outdoor preseason poll

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released the 2018 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field national preseason rankings on Tuesday, where the Kansas men’s team found itself ranked No. 10 prior to its first outdoor meet of the season.
 
The Kansas men are coming off a 17th-place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships where junior Hussain Al Hizam won the pole vault national championship, sophomore Bryce Hoppel and senior Barden Adams earned First Team All-America honors, and Nicolai Ceban and the men’s 4×400-meter relay team earned Second Team All-America bids.
 
Kansas’ women’s squad ranks No. 40 in the USTFCCCA preseason poll after also posting a 17th-place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships with Sharon Lokedi earning two First Team All-America honors and Laura Taylor adding a first team bid as well.
 
The Jayhawks will begin the outdoor season this weekend at the Arkansas Spring Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, March 24 with the first event slated to being at 1 p.m. at the University of Arkansas’ John McDonnell Field.
