KU Soccer alumns sign with French club

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Former Kansas soccer standouts Aurélie Gagnet and Lois Huechan have signed professional contracts with Le Havre Athletic Club, a French soccer club based in Le Havre, Normandy that plays in Ligue 2, the second league in France.

Gagnet, who played for the Jayhawks from 2013-16, saw action in 70 matches and logged 57 starts as a defender at KU. She was named to the Big 12 All-Newcomer team following her freshman season in 2013 and was a three time selection for the Academic All-Big 12 team. With her on the KU back line, the Jayhawks posted two seasons allowing fewer than 20 opponent goals.

Heuchan recently concluded her KU career in November of 2017. She played in 72 matches as a Jayhawk from 2014-17, scoring eight goals, including the game-winner in the 2016 NCAA Tournament first round victory over Missouri.

Le Havre is coming to the conclusion of its 2017-18 season later this month and will prepare to kick off its 2018-19 campaign in September.
