Kansas defeated Pittsburg State in its only game on Halloween, 100-54, on Oct. 31, 2017, in Allen Fieldhouse. Redshirt sophomore guard Malik Newman led KU with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Senior Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk added 17 points, while sophomore center Udoka Azubuike and junior guard Lagerald Vick both tallied double-doubles. Azubuike scored 17 points and 14 rebounds and Vick had 15 points and 11 boards. Kansas would go on to advance to the school’s 15th Final Four winning its NCAA-record 14th consecutive conference regular-season title. The Jayhawks finished 31-8 overall and 13-5 in Big 12 play. KU also won the 2018 31 Big 12 Tournament.
