December 10, 2011: No. 13 Kansas defended its homecourt against No. 2 Ohio State, winning by a score of 78- 67. Four Jayhawks scored in double-figures with Thomas Robinson leading the team with 21 points while also grabbing seven rebounds. Kansas would go on to prove this win wasn’t a fluke, eventually winning the Big 12 regular-season title and becoming the national runner-ups in the NCAA tournament. Robinson was awarded All America first team while also taking home Big 12 Player of the Year honors. Senior Tyshawn Taylor was a unanimous choice for All-Big 12 First Team, and junior Jeff Withey was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.
