Jan. 1, 2006

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Jayhawk fans who do not yet have tickets for the upcoming University of Kansas women’s basketball game against Texas on Jan. 3 have the opportunity to purchase seats at reduced rates.

Any fan who presents a ticket stub from the men’s game against New Orleans or the women’s game against La Salle will be admitted to the women’s conference opener against Texas on Jan. 3 for $2.

Other attractions for the Texas game include Big Blue Night. All fans wearing blue get free popcorn.

At halftime, the crowd will be treated to an exciting show by the Bucket Boys.

Jayhawk fans are also encouraged to take advantage of the Phog Four Pack. For $24, the four-game package includes contests against Texas on Jan. 3, Nebraska on Feb. 15, Border Showdown rival Missouri on Feb. 25 and in-state rival Kansas State on March 2. Fans taking advantage of the offer will save a total of $9 off the regular single-game ticket prices.

The women’s basketball team is 11-0 and off to its best start in school history. The game against Texas is the Big 12 opener for both teams, and will be the Jayhawks first test against a nationally-ranked team this season. Doors open at 4:30 for the 6 p.m. contest.
