Holiday Hoops Clinic Exciting Start To 2009

Jan. 1, 2009

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Over 300 kids and parents attended the University of Kansas women’s basketball Holiday Hoops Clinic on Thursday afternoon. The kids, with some of their parents taking up the invitation to join them, spent New Year’s Day with the Jayhawks’ women’s basketball team.

Kindergarten through eighth graders participated in drills with current KU players and coaches on Naismith Court in Allen Fieldhouse. Participants rotated through seven stations that included instruction on passing, shooting, dribbling and defense. The two hour clinic concluded with an autograph and picture session with KU players.

The women’s basketball team opens the 2009 portion of its schedule on Sunday when they play host to New Mexico State at 2 p.m., in Allen Fieldhouse. The Jayhawks will then conclude their non-conference slate by hosting Fairfield on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 7 p.m.
