Jan. 5, 2005

LAWRENCE, Kan. — The University of Kansas athletics department will hold its annual Kids Day on Saturday, Jan. 8 when the Jayhawk women’s basketball team hosts Kansas State at 7 p.m. in Allen Fieldhouse. All children — 13 and under and in the eighth grade or lower — will receive free admission to the contest against the Wildcats. The complimentary tickets will only be issued on Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse beginning at 5:00 p.m. All other tickets for the game cost $15.00.

Prior to tipoff, children can enjoy carnival-type games in both the north and south concourses of Allen Fieldhouse. Halftime entertainment includes a performance by Luna the Leaping Frisbee Dog. In addition, all KU fans wearing blue will have the opportunity to win a prize.

To accommodate the anticipated large crowd, KU officials encourage fans to arrive early. Fieldhouse doors will open at 5:00 p.m. The ticket office will have cash-only ticket windows open on the North side of Allen Fieldhouse (adjacent to the parking garage). Additionally, four ticket windows will be open on the East side of Allen Fieldhouse that will accept cash or credit cards.
