Bill Easton Classic Meet Schedule

Following a short break for the holidays, the Kansas men’s and women’s track and field teams will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 8, when they host the Bill Easton Classic in Anschutz Pavilion. The meet, which will feature seven teams in addition to KU, is the second of four-straight home meets for the Jayhawks and will begin at 1 p.m., with the field events. The track events will begin at 3 p.m.

The Jayhawks will look to build off of their solid season-opening performance at the Bob Timmons Challenge in December as four Jayhawk men and three Jayhawk women took home individual titles.

Headlining the list of participants for KU this weekend will be returning All-Americans Mason Finley for the men and Andrea Geubelle and Taylor Washington for the men. Finley, who took home All-America honors in the shot put as a freshman, will be competing in the weight throw. Geubelle is set to compete in the triple jump and the 60 meters and Washington will be racing in the 200 meters and 400 meters.

Other notable performers for the KU men include Kyle Clemons (60m, 200m, 600m), Brian Bishop (shot put, weight throw), Keron Toussaint (600m) and Donny Wasinger (3,000m). Notable performers on the women’s side include Kendra Bradley (200m, 400m, 4x400m-relay), Diamond Dixon (60m, 200m), Denesha Morris (200m, 400m), Rebecca Neville (60m hurdles, high jump), Demi Payne (pole vault), Francine Simpson (long jump, 60m) and Shayla Wilson (600m).

Kansas national champion pole vaulter Jordan Scott will compete as an individual in the pole vault as he has exhausted his indoor eligibility. He will be a senior during the 2011 outdoor season.
