Position Title: Athletic Trainer-Graduate Assistant (4 Positions)

Starting Date: July 1, 2005

Length ofAppointment: 1 year that is renewable for an additional year

Salary: $1000.00/month stipend; Tuition Waiver; Malpractice Liability Insurance; NATA Dues, Kansas State Board of Healing Arts Licensure Fee and Annual Dues.

Duties: Under the supervision of the director of sports medicine, and staff athletic trainers, assist in the organization and supervision of student-athletes’ delivery of allied health care. Responsibilities include injury prevention, evaluation, recognition, emergency care and referral, physical rehabilitation, and travel with assigned teams. Provide a progressive educational experience and serve as an approved clinical instructor for students pursuing the athletic training major that is CAAHEP accredited.

Qualifications:Required Bachelor’s degree in athletic training, physical education, health or related field. NATABOC certified athletic trainer (ATC) by July 1, 2005. Eligible for licensure as an athletic trainer (LAT) with The Kansas State Board of Healing Arts. Admission to KU graduate school.
