Jayhawks Glide Past Wildcats in Mexico

SAN LUIS POTOSI, Mexico – The Kansas Jayhawks defeated the Northern Michigan University Wildcats, 65-30, in training trip competition Monday evening at the La Loma Altitude Training Center in <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>San Luis Potosi, Mexico.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

The shortened meet featured five events in the 25-meter pool. The 50-meter butterfly, 50-meter backstroke, 50-meter breaststroke, 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter individual medley rounded out the order of events. Kansas swimmers placed first and second in each of the events.

The Jayhawks will return from winter training on Jan. 11 and next be in action on Jan. 13 in Lincoln, Neb., as they take on Big 12 Conference rival Nebraska at 2 p.m. in Devaney Natatorium.
