2009 Football Tickets On Sale; Order Online By Jan. 31 To Save $50

Jan. 8, 2009

Football season tickets for KU’s 2009 football season tickets are now on sale, and fans ordering tickets online prior to January 31 will save $50 on their order.

Coming off their second straight bowl appearance and third consecutive bowl victory, the Jayhawks will tackle a six-game 2009 schedule at Kivisto Field at Memorial Stadium that is one of KU’s best ever. It includes games against national powers Oklahoma and Nebraska, as well as non-conference games against Duke and Southern Mississippi.

The Jayhawks will return plenty of talent from this season’s Insight Bowl Champion team, including:

  • Quarterback Todd Reesing, a semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien Award (nation’s best quarterback),
  • First-team All-Big 12 safety Darrell Stuckey,
  • Wide Receiver Dezmon Briscoe, an SI.com honorable mention All-American, and
  • Wide Receiver Kerry Meier, a finalist for the Fred Biletnikoff Award (nation’s best receiver).

Fans can purchase their season tickets online at www.kuathletics.com, by calling 800-34-HAWKS, or in-person at the Allen Fieldhouse Ticket Office.

Reserved season tickets cost $300. The Family Plan, which includes two adult and two youth general admission season tickets in Memorial Stadium’s North Bowl, costs $450. In 2008 the Family Plan section sold out before the start of the season.

Kansas Athletics also announced a new season ticket option, the Crimson Zone ticket – a reserved seat in Sections 1 and 2 – for just $225.

Kansas Athletics has also introduced a new Payment Plan Option that gives fans the opportunity to spread out their payments by having Kansas Athletics deduct a set amount from their bank account each month.

Kansas plays Missouri in the Border Showdown at Arrowhead Stadium for the third consecutive year. Similar to 2008, the Missouri game is not included in the season ticket package. Information regarding Arrowhead parking and tickets, as well as 2009 season parking passes on campus, will be released at a later date.

Kansas has set season attendance records at Memorial Stadium each of the last four years. Last season the Jayhawks averaged 50,907 fans per game, an all-time high.
