KU's Gockel Ties For 34th At Harder Hall Golf Invitational

SEBRING, Fla. – Kansas junior Meghan Gockel tied for 34th while competing in a non-NCAA Tournament, the Harder Hall Golf Invitational, on Saturday. Gockel shot a 313 through four rounds to finish 38 shots off the pace.
After opening the tournament with a 76 and a 79 in the first two rounds, the Dallas, Texas native fired a third-round 77 before closing with an 81. Candace Schepperle of Birmingham, Ala. claimed medalist honors by seven shots with a total of 275, which included a final-round 65.
The tournament was played on the Harder Hall Golf Course. Gockel improved her score from this event a year ago when she shot 319.
Gockel and her Jayhawk teammates will return to college tournament action at the Central District Invitational in Parrish, Fla., Feb. 16-17.
