Kansas Baseball Moves into New Home

Jan. 14, 2009

The Kansas baseball team officially moved into its brand new facility, the McCarthy Family Clubhouse, on Wednesday. With construction nearly complete on the building, the Jayhawks were able to utilize the locker room and state-of-the-art players’ lounge.

The clubhouse, which sits behind the dugout on the first base side of Hoglund Ballpark, contains a players’ and coaches’ locker room, a training room, a players’ lounge as well as an academic area and a cardio room for the student-athletes.

The Jayhawks initially broke ground during the early months of the 2008 baseball season and expect the clubhouse to be fully functional before practice begins on Feb. 1.

The facility is named after donor Kent McCarthy and his family for their contributions to the project. The team will hold a dedication of the new clubhouse prior to their May 16 game against Kansas State.
