LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Tuesday morning the Kansas softball team departed for Wichita, Kan., where it will spend the next three days practicing at the MustangsSoftballAcademy, a state-of-the-art indoor softball complex.

The facility, which includes a full-size softball field, will allow the Jayhawks to hold full-scale scrimmages. The trip also provides more team bonding opportunities.

The team will practice twice a day during its trip in preparation for the upcoming season, which opens Feb. 11-13 at the Jacksonville Tournament in Jacksonville, Fla.
