Kansas Struggles On Day Two at Clemson Winter Classic

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Kansas women’s tennis team struggled on day two of the Clemson Indoor Winter Classic, winning only three of its nine total matches Saturday at Clemson Tennis Center.
The Jayhawks went 2-3 against singles opponents from Louisiana State before winning only one of their four doubles matches against Tulane. Kansas sophomore Maria Belen Ludueña defeated LSU’s Mary Jeremiah, 5-7, 6-2, 1-0 (10-6), while junior Claire Dreyer beat Caroline Hudson, 6-1, 6-2.
In doubles, junior Dylan Windom and freshman Maria Jose Cardona paired up to defeat Tulane’s Caroline Magnusson and Caroline Thornton, 8-7 (5). The Jayhawks went 3-5 against singles opponents from Tulane and 2-1 in doubles against LSU on Friday.
Kansas will play its only matches on Sunday against doubles opponents from Clemson. Competition is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. Stay tuned to KUAthletics.com for updated results from Clemson, S.C., at the end of the day.
