Kansas' Seven Seniors to be Honored at Last Home Meet of Season

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The University of Kansas swimming and diving team will honor the Jayhawks’ seven seniors Friday evening prior to the Hawks’ Big 12 Conference showdown against the Iowa State Cyclones at 6 p.m. in Robinson Natatorium. The Kansas-Iowa State match-up will be the third Big 12 dual of the season for the Jayhawks, also the second and last home meet of the season before the team heads to College Station, Tex., for the Big 12 Championships on Feb. 14-17.

The Jayhawks are 5-1 in dual meet competition this season in addition to placing second at the Maryland Invitational on Nov. 18 and third at the Nike Cup-Kenyon Invitational Dec. 2. Kansas last competed when it defeated the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 154.5-145.5, on Jan. 13 in Lincoln, Neb., for its first Big 12 victory of the season.

Day one of competition against the Cyclones will begin Friday evening at 6 p.m. with senior recognition at approximately 5:45 p.m. before the start of events. The two-day showdown will continue Saturday morning at 10 a.m. with the 100-yard freestyle.

Due to the Kansas men’s basketball game on Saturday afternoon, parking lot 34 will be reserved for Kansas swimming and diving fans, supporters and media. Lot 34 is located on the corner of Illinois St. and Sunnyside Ave. behind the Computer Center on the University of Kansas campus.
