Home Softball Schedule to Air on AT&T Jayhawk All-Access

Jan. 24, 2012

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas Athletics will add audio broadcasts of softball games to its AT&T Jayhawk All-Access coverage this spring. The addition makes more than 225 events Jayhawk All-Access will produce during the 2011-12 academic year.

Audio broadcasts of all 16 Jayhawks’ regular-season home games and a road doubleheader at Missouri State will stream live during the 2012 season. The All-Access content will be provided free of charge through KUAthletics.com, or for a small fee, through the Kansas Athletics’ official iPhone or Android app.

“This is terrific for our program,” head coach Megan Smith said. “Our parents and fans are great and this is one more way that they can connect with Jayhawk softball. We have outstanding attendance at our home games and now those fans who aren’t able to be here can still be a part of the action.”

Fans can quickly locate each broadcast by logging onto kuathletics.com/AllAccess and clicking on the link on the “Live Events” tab or by visiting the softball schedule page.

The broadcast schedule will debut away from Arrocha Ballpark, when Kansas travels to Springfield, Mo., for a doubleheader at Missouri State March 20, beginning at 3 p.m. The Jayhawks then return home to host 2011 Women’s College World Series participant and preseason No. 16 Oklahoma State, March 23-25.

Kansas officially opens the 2012 season against Tennessee-Martin in game one of the Southeastern Lion Classic in Hammond, La., Feb. 10-12.

This marks the eighth consecutive year that AT&T Jayhawk All-Access will broadcast Kansas Athletics events either with video, audio or both. This season, in addition to five men’s basketball games, Jayhawk fans tuned in to AT&T All-Access to see:
