Kansas Athletics has released an Online Priority Points Special for current members of the Williams Educational Fund who purchase 2008 football season tickets online between Friday, January 25 and Friday, February 8.

For every season ticket purchased online during that time, fans will receive 5 permanent points to their Williams Fund account, with no limit to the number of points fans can earn (normal limit is 20). Each Family Plan purchased will also receive five permanent points. In addition, fans who purchase their season tickets with e-check will not be charged a handling fee during the two-week online promotion.

Beginning Saturday, February 9, fans will receive five points per season ticket up to four tickets (20 points) and one point for every season ticket thereafter. Standard handling fees will apply at that time. Fans can purchase their season tickets online at www.kuathletics.com.

Public season tickets for the seven-game home schedule at Kivisto Field in Memorial Stadium are $300. Faculty-staff season tickets and recent graduate packages (2006-08 graduation date) are $240. Family-Zone season packages are also available for $400. The Family-Zone, located in the North Bowl, includes two adult and two youth general admission tickets.

The Border Showdown against <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Missouri will again be played in Arrowhead Stadium. That game is not part of the 2008 season ticket package. However, KU season ticket holders and Williams Fund members will receive first priority in purchasing KU’s allotment of tickets in Arrowhead Stadium. KU season ticket holders will receive information in mid-April regarding the purchase of Border Showdown tickets.

Kansas will look to continue the momentum of a remarkable 2007 season, which included a school-record 12 wins and an Orange Bowl victory against #3 Virginia Tech. An impressive schedule awaits — six of Kansas’ 2008 opponents played in bowl games last season: South Florida (Sun Bowl), Colorado (Independence Bowl), Oklahoma (Fiesta Bowl), Texas Tech (Gator Bowl), Texas (Holiday Bowl), and Missouri (Cotton Bowl).

Kansas will open the season Aug. 30 against Florida International. Additional home games include Louisiana Tech (Sept. 6), SamHoustonState (Sept. 20, Band Day Family Day), Colorado (Oct. 11), Texas Tech (Oct. 25, Homecoming), Kansas State (Nov. 1), and Texas (Nov. 15).

The Jayhawks will travel to South Florida (Sep. 13), Iowa State (Oct. 4), Oklahoma (Oct. 18), and Nebraska (Nov. 8). Kansas will play Missouri at Arrowhead Stadium on November 29.

Season tickets remain the best value for Jayhawk fans ($42/game for reserved seats and $14.29/game for the family plan). Single-game tickets for all non-conference games are $40 each. The Colorado and Texas Tech games are $45 each; the Texas game is $60, and Kansas State tickets are $85. Single-game tickets will go on sale to the general public August 1. However, season-ticket holders can purchase additional single-game tickets prior to August 1, including the Missouri game at Arrowhead Stadium.

Tickets may be purchased in person at the Allen Fieldhouse Ticket Office, by phone at (800) 34-HAWKS or online at kuathletics.com.
