No. 8/8 Kansas (17-3, 4-1) returns to the friendly confines of Allen Fieldhouse after a two-game tour of the Lone Star State to host Colorado (5-11, 1-5). Tip from Allen Fieldhouse is set for 12:45 p.m. Kansas is coming off an 82-56 win at Baylor Wednesday. Colorado is looking to snap a two-game losing streak after its 79-65 loss to Missouri Wednesday in Boulder, Colo.

About Kansas
Kansas plays its third of four games in nine days when it hosts Colorado. The Jayhawks responded from their first league loss of the season at Texas Tech with an 82-56 win at Baylor Wednesday. KU is scoring 76.8 points per game and giving up 59.5. The Jayhawks have held every opponent to under 50 percent shooting this season and are making 48.5 percent to their opponents’ 37.2 percent from the floor. Kansas forces 17.7 turnovers per game and averages 7.2 blocked shots per contest. Preseason Big 12 Co-Player of the Year Brandon Rush (G) leads KU in scoring at 13.7 points per game and in three-point field goals made with 36 on the season. Sophomore guard Mario Chalmers and freshman Darrell Arthur are tied for second in scoring at 11.5 points per game. Arthur leads the team with 37 blocked shots, while Chalmers paces KU with 56 steals. Sophomore forward Julian Wright, the other Preseason Big 12 Co-Player of the Year, leads the team in rebounding with an 8.0 average to go along with his 11.4 ppg. Freshman guard Sherron Collins is scoring 13.2 points in Big 12 play and 8.9 overall. Junior center Sasha Kaun is scoring 6.7 points per game and paces the team with his 59 percent field goal percentage. Junior guard Russell Robinson leads the team with 90 assists on the year to go along with a 6.4 scoring average. Junior forward Darnell Jackson is scoring 5.5 points and pulling down 4.8 rebounds per contest.

About Colorado
Colorado is currently 5-11 overall and 1-5 Big 12 play following its 79-65 loss to Missouri Wednesday. The Buffaloes have lost two straight and five of their last six outings heading into Saturday’s contest with the Jayhawks. CU is scoring 68.2 points and giving up 78.8. Junior guard Richard Roby leads the team in scoring at 16.7 points per game, which is seventh in the Big 12. Freshman guard Xavier Silas is second in scoring at 11.3 points per game followed closely by senior Dominique Coleman at 11.3 points per outing. Coleman’s 6.1 rebounds average are second on the team and 13th in the conference. He leads CU with 58 assists and 29 steals. Sophomore forward Jermyl Jackson-Wilson is adding in 8.1 points per game and leads the team in rebounding with a 6.3 average – good for 12th in the Big 12. Freshman guard Kal Bay leads CU with 28 three-pointers made to go along with his 6.6 scoring average. Sophomore forward Marcus King-Stockton rounds out the CU starters averaging four points and 4.4 rebounds per game.

The Series
This series dates back to 1931 and Kansas leads, 111-39, including a 56-7 record in Lawrence and 47-5 mark in Allen Fieldhouse. Kansas has won seven straight and 34 of the last 35 meetings with CU dating back to 1991. The last Colorado win in the series was 60-59 thriller on Jan. 22, 2003 in Boulder. The previous CU win was 79-71 victory on Feb. 20, 1991, also in Boulder. Kansas has won 23 straight against Colorado in Allen Fieldhouse. Colorado’s last win in the Fieldhouse was a 75-74 decision on Feb. 10, 1983. The first two games of the series — Jan. 2 and Jan. 3, 1931 — were played in Denver, Colo.
