Aubrey Nash, Guard on 1971 Final Four Team, Dies After Stroke

Aubrey Nash, a guard who averaged 6.6 points per game for the 1970-71 KU team that reached the Final Four, died Thursday night at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., after suffering a stroke. He was 62.

Nash, who lettered three seasons at Kansas, earned all-America accolades in football and basketball at DeMatha High School near D.C. His DeMatha basketball team won a mythical national championship in Nash’s senior year, 1968. He was selected by the Baltimore Bullets in the 1972 NBA draft.
