LAWRENCE, Kan. –

A new Family Plan option highlights the 2008 <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>University of Kansas baseball season ticket package, announced Thursday by Kansas Athletics.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

The Family Plan, which consists of four season tickets (two adults and two youth general admission tickets), costs just $199.

Other season-ticket packages include Box Seats ($150), General Admission ($70), and KU Faculty and Staff ($56).

The Jayhawks home slate consists of 26 games – 13 against Big 12 Conference opponents – including eight games against teams that participated in the 2007 NCAA tournament. Highlights of the schedule include games against No. 21 Texas A&M, Oklahoma, No. 6 Missouri and Kansas State, as well as non-conference foes Oral Roberts and No. 20 Wichita State.

Members of the Williams Educational Fund who purchase season tickets will receive two (2) priority points per account, regardless of the number of tickets purchased.

“I’m excited for the upcoming season,” Kansas head coach Ritch Price said. “I think with the players we have returning, and the quality of the players that we brought in this offseason, we’re going to have one of the most talented teams I’ve ever coached in my 30 years of baseball.”

The NCAA has instituted a new uniform start date of Feb. 22, which gives the Jayhawks the opportunity to play in more fan-friendly weather.

“The new NCAA rule that has pushed back the start date for games will allow our fans to watch the Jayhawks play this spring in much warmer weather,” Price said.
“We’re excited about the new start date and believe that it will increase our season ticket sales and provide our team with a home field advantage!”

KU will play its home opener Wednesday, March 5 at 3 p.m. Fans will receive free Carmel corn when KU scores its first run of the season.

Season tickets may be purchased in person at the Allen Fieldhouse Ticket Office, by phone at (800) 34-HAWKS or online at kuathletics.com.
