<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>LAWRENCE, Kan. – The University of Kansas tennis team will make its first road trip of the young season this weekend when it travels to Winston-Salem, N.C. to take on Syracuse and WakeForest.

The Jayhawks will face the Orange at 2 p.m. on Saturday, and will then meet the Demon Deacons on Sunday at noon.

Kansas enters the match with a 1-3 record following last weekend’s setback at the hands of No. 21 Texas. KU, ranked No. 67 in the latest ITA poll, got its only point against the Longhorn’s from junior Elizaveta Avdeeva in the No. 1 singles match.

Syracuse, who is coached by former professional tennis player and broadcaster Luke Jensen, comes in with a record of 1-1.

Wake Forest, which is currently ranked 19th in the nation, boasts a mark of 2-0. The Demon Deacons are currently the highest-ranked non-conference opponent that Kansas will face this season.

This weekend’s contests are the beginning of a tough stretch for the Jayhawks, who will play 11 currently-ranked opponents in its final 17 duals.
