Kansas Tennis to Host First Spring Meet Against UMKC

Feb. 5, 2012

LAWRENCE, Kan.—Junior Monica Pezzotti and sophomore Paulina Los look to lead the Kansas women’s tennis team as it kicks off its spring season Tuesday, Feb. 7 against UMKC at the Jayhawk Tennis Center.

“We’re excited to be getting into regular season dual competition,” Kansas head coach Amy Hall-Holt said. “The student-athletes are ready to play someone other than their teammates in practice. We are really looking forward to this season.”

Pezzotti and Los, ranked No. 42 as a doubles team in the Preseason ITA Rankings, are coming off an impressive fall campaign where the duo went 10-1 in doubles competition.

In singles play, the Jayhawks will be led by sophomore Dylan Windom. The Tifton, Ga., native dominated at the Hawai’i Invitational in January, going 3-0 in individual play during the three-day tournament.

The dual against UMKC is set to begin at 4 p.m. at Jayhawk Tennis Center and is free to the public. Please check back with kuathletics.com for complete results.
