LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas offensive lineman Tanner Hawkinson and safety Bradley McDougald have been invited to participate in the National Football League’s annual scouting combine in Indianapolis, Ind., Feb. 20-26. The league released its full list of 333 athletes that have been invited to the combine Thursday morning.

The Jayhawk teammates, who both played in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 19, will interview, work out and take medical and psychological tests for scouts and team executives from all 32 NFL teams. Hawkinson will be at the NFL Combine Feb. 20-23, while McDougald is in the final group to arrive in Indianapolis and will be there from Feb. 23-26. Various segments from the Combine will be televised by the NFL Network.

Hawkinson was tabbed honorable mention for the Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year award in 2012. During his senior season, the 6-foot-5 ½ offensive tackle was named Second Team All-Big 12 and played an integral role in helping the Jayhawks rank 24th in the country and third in the conference in rushing yards per game. He also set two Kansas records his senior season, he concluded his career by starting all 48 games in his collegiate career, the most starts overall and the most consecutive starts by any player in KU history.

McDougald was also a Second Team All-Big 12 selection during his senior season. He closed out his Kansas career by ranking second on the team in tackles with 92, including 72 solo stops. He had three interceptions, two forced fumbles and 4.0 TFLs for a loss of 18 yards. The Columbus, Ohio native also returned punts, collecting 39 yards on four returns.

This marks the first time that Kansas has had multiple players selected to participate in the NFL Combine since 2009, when current NFL players Dezmon Briscoe, Kerry Meier and Darrell Stuckey took part in the pre-draft workouts. Last season, linebacker Steven Johnson worked out at the Combine and signed a free agent contract with the Denver Broncos.
