LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Kansas volleyball assistant coach Todd Chamberlain spent the morning visiting students at the Hilltop Child Development Center in Lawrence Tuesday through the “Jayhawks Give Back” department-wide community outreach program.

Chamberlain, who is in his first year as an assistant at KU, entertained a preschool class by reading “Winnie the Pooh and Valentines, Too” by Liza Alexander and “Franklin’s Valentines” by Paulette Bourgeois before talking with the class and answering questions about his job as a volleyball coach.

“I really enjoyed the opportunity to interact with the kids at Hilltop,” Chamberlain said. “It’s fun to connect with the community and I think the kids have a fun time with it as well.”

Chamberlain was one of five KU Athletics employees who visited the school Tuesday as men’s golf coach Kit Grove, assistant AD for compliance Kristine Fowler, director of student financial aid Beth Swank and associate athletics director for community relations Mike Harrity also visited Hillcrest.
