ESPN College GameDay Heading to Allen Fieldhouse Feb. 16

8553428.jpeg%20gameday 2LAWRENCE, Kan. – ESPN’s College GameDay Driven by State Farm® will be televised live Saturday, Feb. 16th from Allen Fieldhouse. The historic venue is hosting the College GameDay for the fifth time since 2005.

Doors to Allen Fieldhouse will open at 7 a.m. that day. The morning telecast begins at 9 a.m. on ESPNU and continues on ESPN from 10-11 a.m. The event is free to the public and tickets are not required. Allen Fieldhouse concessions will be open and interpreter services will be provided.

In addition to the two hours in the morning, ESPN will televise a show from 7-8 p.m. from the Allen Fieldhouse floor. A Kansas-Texas men’s basketball game ticket will be required to watch that segment of the show in person.

From 6-8 a.m., Kansas’ Student Union Activities will provide busing for students living in the dorms and will have pickup and drop-off locations at GSP/Corbin as well as Daisy Hill. Busing will also be provided following the conclusion of ESPN College GameDay until 12:30 p.m.

Hosting the morning telecast will be the College GameDay crew of Rece Davis, Jay Bilas, Jalen Rose and Digger Phelps, who will preview the Kansas-Texas matchup and detail the day’s other college basketball action.

Jayhawk fans are encouraged to make signs for the College GameDay broadcast and to wear their best KU spirit gear and costumes. One lucky KU student will be selected from the crowd to attempt a half-court shot presented by State Farm during the GameDay broadcast. The student will have 18 seconds to make the shot. If he or she is successful in making a shot, he or she will receive $18,000.
