HOUSTON – Rock Chalk Video, the video production arm of the University of Kansas athletics department, has received the Golden Matrix Award for the best overall university video display. The award was announced at the Information Display and Entertainment Association (IDEA) Conference Wednesday in Houston.

The award honors superior achievement in the field of large-screen video presentations. Kansas was selected by votes cast by other university members attending the IDEA conference. Rock Chalk Video operates the MegaVision board at Memorial Stadium.

This is the second time that Rock Chalk Video has won the Golden Matrix Award for best overall university video display. It also won the award in 2002.

“We are honored to receive such a prestigious award,” said KU athletics director Lew Perkins. “Kansas Athletics strives to be the best in all that we do; this honor reflects the terrific work being done every day by our outstanding video staff.”

The Information Display and Entertainment Association is an international association of electronic display system and scoreboard operators. Founded in 1982, IDEA members represent teams, public facilities, manufactures and suppliers worldwide. IDEA encompasses all branches of the sports, entertainment and convention industries.
