Feb. 11, 2005

HILO, Hawaii –

The Kansas men’s golf team finished in a tie for 11th place, in a 21-team field, at the Taylor Made/Waikoloa Intercollegiate Golf Tournament at the Waikoloa Village Course in Hilo, Hawaii after posting a final round score of 274 for a three round total of 833.

“We got off to a poor start but rallied,” head coach Ross Randall said. “However, we finished the day off pretty well.”

Oklahoma State took home the tournament title with an 801 after leading all three days. Georgia Tech came in second with an 808.

Sophomore Tyler Docking carded a 72 and senior Kevin Ward fired a 67 as they both placed in a tie for 21st. The story of the day, however, was senior Andrew Price who tied a Kansas golf record by shooting a 63. His great round, which was also the lowest by any player in the tournament, earned him a tie for 24th. Junior Pete Krsnich carded a 72 to tie for 90th. Sophomore Gary Woodland recorded a 74 and tied for 99th.

The Jayhawks will next be in action at the UTSA Invitational on Feb. 28-March 1 in San Antonio, Texas.
