Tennis To Open Big 12 Play Against No. 14 Texas

Lawrence, Kan. – The University of Kansas tennis team will host the No. 14 Texas Longhorns on Feb. 13, in Overland Park, Kan. The match begins at 10 a.m. and will be held at the Overland Park Racquet Club.

Kansas (1-3) enters the match looking to rebound after three straight losses including two this past weekend to Ole Miss and Mississippi State. No. 14 Texas enters the dual with a 2-0 record.

“We welcome the challenge of such a top-level team and we know that we will have to be on top of our game,” Kansas head coach Amy Hall-Holt said. “We have learned a lot from our previous matches and we need raise our game both mentally and physically.”

Last season, Texas downed the Jayhawks in the regular season, 4-1, in Austin on April 25 and defeated the `Hawks, 4-0, in the second round of the Big 12 Tournament to end the Jayhawks 2004 campaign.

Following the match against Texas, the Jayhawks will head to University Park, Pa. for a match against Penn State on Feb. 18.
