Kansas comes off its 7-0 sweep of UMKC to host Iowa and South Dakota in a Valentine’s Day double-header this Sunday, where Kansas sophomore Ekaterina Morozova will take on Iowa’s No. 65 Sonja Molnar at No. 1 singles.

Morozova is 2-1 going into the match with wins against Drake’s Gabriela Demos and UMKC’s Eva Dalvai. Morozova’s only loss came versus Notre Dame’s No. 30 Kristy Frilling, where she challenged the nationally-ranked player in a first set tiebreaker. Morozova has never faced Molnar, but defeated Iowa’s Alexis Dorr in three sets last year in Iowa City.

The Iowa tennis team comes to Lawrence after a 6-1 defeat of Eastern Michigan on January 24. Previously, Iowa lost to Notre Dame 6-1. Kansas lost to Notre Dame last week 7-0. The Hawkeyes currently own an 8-7 advantage in the all-time series with the Jayhawks dating back to the first year of the KU tennis program in 1976.

South Dakota enters the matchup with a 0-3 record with losses to Air Force, Seattle and Gonzaga. The Coyotes are led by sophomore Shadi Soleymani who posted an impressive 6-3 record last season and finished second in the Hinds-Kellogg Classic last fall. The Jayhawks have never faced the Coyotes.

KU will take the court against Iowa at 10 a.m. and play South Dakota at 3 p.m. at the Jayhawk Tennis Facility on Sunday. Admission is free to the public.
