Juniors Lead Kansas Past Colorado, 75-46

Junior Russell Robinson’s season-high 14 points led No. 8/9 Kansas (22-4, 9-2) past Colorado (6-15, 2-9), 75-46, Wednesday night from the Coors Events Center. With the victory, Kansas has now swept the season series with CU for four-straight years and in 15 of the past 16 seasons, dating back to 1992.

In addition to his 14, Robinson added six assists and tied a season-high with five steals. Junior Sasha Kaun also had a solid performance for the Jayhawks, scoring 10 points, grabbing a season-high nine rebounds and tying a career high with four blocks. Freshman Darrell Arthur came off the bench to finish with 11 points and seven rebounds.

Kansas shot 47 percent from the field in the game (30-63) while limiting Colorado to just 27 percent shooting from the field (15-55). KU forced 18 Colorado turnovers and had 10 blocks, six steals and 22 assists. Junior Darnell Jackson came off the bench to grab 11 rebounds, including four on the offensive glass.

Kansas led 38-22 at halftime behind nine points from Robinson and six from Arthur and sophomore Julian Wright. Xavier Silas led Colorado with 11 points in the defeat.

The Jayhawks return home to face Nebraska on Saturday, February 17. That game will be part of the Big 12 television package with a 3 p.m. tip from Allen Fieldhouse. Kansas won at Nebraska 76-56 on Jan. 29. KU will then have one day off before traveling to Kansas State for ESPN Big Monday on Feb. 19.
