KU Football Announces Spring Practice Plans

Feb. 14, 2007

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Head Coach Mark Mangino announced that the Kansas football team has set its spring practice dates for the 2007 season. The workouts begin March 14 and conclude with the Annual Spring Scrimmage on April 15. Kickoff time for the scrimmage is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

In addition to the spring scrimmage on April 15, the Jayhawks will host a pair of practices — March 16 and April 4 — that are open to the public. Unless otherwise noted, practices will be held on the grass practice fields south of the Anschutz Sports Pavilion. Both practices are scheduled for approximately 3:40 p.m.

Kansas ended the 2006 regular-season as one of the hottest teams in the Big 12, claiming victories in three of the final four games of the year, including a 39-20 downing of in-state rival Kansas State. KU’s three-game win streak over Colorado, Iowa State and Kansas State marked the first time in school history that the Jayhawks had won three consecutive Big 12 games.

The Jayhawks open the 2007 season on Sept. 1 when the team hosts Central Michigan.
