Carolyn Davis Earns Second Big 12 Freshman of the Week Honor

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas freshman forward Carolyn Davis was tabbed the Big 12 Freshman of the Week for the second time in the last three weeks, as announced by the league office Monday. Davis previously earned the award on Monday, Feb. 1.

Davis tallied two double-doubles on the week with 17 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks and two steals versus No. 3/4 Nebraska in the week’s opener. Davis knocked down 5-of-9 shots from the field and 7-of-9 buckets from the charity stripe.

In her second game of the week versus No. 14/19 Texas, Davis poured in a career-best 29 points off of 10-of-14 shooting from the field and 9-of-10 from the foul line. She also pulled down a personal best 14 rebounds to go along with a career-high five blocks.

For the week, Davis averaged 23.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and a steal, while shooting 65.2 percent from the field and 84.2 percent from the free throw line.

Davis and her Kansas teammates travel to Colorado for a match-up with the Buffaloes on Tuesday, Feb. 16. Game time is slated for 8 p.m. (CT), at the Coors Events Center with a live broadcast on Fox Sports Net-Rocky Mountain.
