Kansas Set To Host Missouri In Saturday's Pink Zone Game

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

In the second of two games to be hosted at Allen Fieldhouse Saturday, Feb. 19, the Kansas women’s basketball program will host its annual Jayhawks For a Cure “Pink Zone” game. KU will take on Border Showdown rival Missouri at 7 p.m., following the top-ranked Kansas men’s basketball team’s game versus Colorado at 1 p.m.

Any fan with a ticket stub for the men’s game can receive free admission to look on as the Jayhawk women’s basketball team will sport their pink uniforms in support of breast cancer awareness when they take on the Tigers. Fans will need to visit the KU Ticket Office on the southeast corner of Allen Fieldhouse prior to the women’s game to receive their ticket voucher. Additionally, any fan wearing pink can receive a ticket for just $3. The first 5,000 fans will receive a pink t-shirt in support of the cause.

Kansas Athletics will donate $1 for every person in attendance, while Jayhawk head coach Bonnie Henrickson will donate $1 for every KU student in attendance. Additionally, Centerplate will donate $1 for every jumbo popcorn sold at the game. All proceeds will benefit Lawrence Memorial Hospital Breast Center and the KU Med Cancer Center.

KU enters Saturday’s game with Missouri with a 16-9 overall record. Kansas knocked off No. 20 Iowa State, 86-85, in overtime in its last outing in Allen Fieldhouse on Wednesday, Feb. 9. The Jayhawks are 11-3 at home on the season and have won three-straight games over the Tigers in Allen Fieldhouse.
