Jayhawks Conclude Day One at Central District Invitational

PARRISH, Fla. – Kansas women’s golf wrapped up its first two rounds at the Central District Invitational Monday in Parrish, Fla. Playing in their first tournament of the spring season, the Jayhawks currently sit in twelfth place heading into Tuesday’s final round.

Junior Emily Powers shot rounds of 80 and 74 to finish the day ten-over-par and tied for 38th place individually. Rounding out the lineup for the Jayhawks were sophomore Meghna Bal (77-78–155, T42), freshman Kalynd Carson (78-77–155, T42) and sophomores Sydney Wilson (84-77–161, T61) and Jennifer Clark (87-80–167, T70).

Auburn, who is ranked #10 in the nation by Golfweek.com, shot a seven-over-par 579 to finish the day in first place. Sitting atop the individual leader board was Candace Schepperle of Auburn who shot a five-under-par 139.
