Brandon Rush and Darrell Arthur combined for 26 points as five different Jayhawks scored in double-figures to power No. 8 Kansas past Nebraska, 92-39, at Allen Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon.

The Jayhawks improve to 23-4 overall and 10-2 in the Big 12, while the Huskers fall to 15-10 overall and 4-7 in conference play.

KU outscored the Huskers 56-17 in the second half as all 13 Jayhawks who played scored in the game. The 56 second-half points were the most by KU in a half this season.

Both Arthur and Rush tallied 13 points. Arthur was 5-of-6 from the field with three rebounds and a blocked shot. Freshman Sherron Collins had 12 points, while Mario Chalmers and Julian Wright chipped in 10 apiece. Chalmers matched a season-high with eight assists.

As a team, KU had 25 assists, compared to just nine for the Huskers. The Jayhawks also outrebounded Nebraska, 42-24. Rush led the team with eight boards.

The Jayhawks’ defense clamped down on Nebraska, holding the Huskers to just 31 percent shooting from the field, including 29 percent in the second half (7-for-24). KU also had 10 steals and seven blocked shots in the game.

Center Aleks Maric led the Huskers with 14 points.

The Jayhawks will take on Sunflower Showdown rival Kansas State Monday at 8 p.m. The game can be seen nationally on ESPN.
