Jayhawks In Eighth At Central District Invitational

The University of Kansas women’s golf team is currently in eighth place, in a 14-team field, after two rounds of the Central District Invitational. The Jayhawks shot a 307 in the first round and a 309 in the second at the Wilderness Golf Club for a two round total of 616.

Baylor leads the tournament with a 600 followed by Ohio State, Missouri and SMU which each have a 609.

Senior Chelsey Pryor is currently in eighth after rounds of 74 and 75 for a 149. Junior Amanda Costner is in a tie for 18th after a 75 and 77 for a 152 total. Sophomore Annie Giangrosso carded a 75 and 81 for a 156 to tie for 35th. Senior Meredith Winkelmann totaled a 159 after rounds of 83 and 76 put her in a tie for 52nd. Sophomore Sarah Kierl is in 73rd after back-to-back rounds of 85 for a 170.

The Jayhawks will begin final round play on Tuesday with tee times set to begin at 7:00 a.m. Central time. For live results from the tournament, visit www.golfstat.com.
