LAWRENCE, Kan. – Less than one month ago Kansas women’s basketball knocked off then-No. 21 Texas Tech on Jan. 25 and now the Jayhawks will look to sweep the season series as they travel to Lubbock, Texas to face the Red Raiders on Feb. 21. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. from United Spirit Arena. Both schools are 17-9 overall on the season but KU is just ahead of TTU in the conference standings with a 6-8 record. The Red Raiders are 5-9 in league play.

– Kansas will play the remainder of the 2011-12 season without leading scorer Carolyn Davis, who suffered a knee injury at Kansas State on Feb. 12.

– Senior Aishah Sutherland is recording 19.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game over the last four contests.

– Sutherland appeared in her 122nd career game versus Missouri Saturday which tied for the ninth-most appearances in program history.

– Junior Angel Goodrich has 200 assists so far in 2011-12 and needs eight more to break the school’s single-season assist record.

– Earlier this season the Jayhawks defeated then-No. 21 Texas Tech 72-63 on Jan. 15 and will search for their second series sweep of 2011-12 Tuesday. KU won both of its games versus Texas this year.

– Despite a -3.6 rebound margin in Big 12 games, Kansas has out-rebounded three of its last four opponents, including a +14 mark at Kansas State on Feb. 12, which was single-game high for KU during conference play.

Since losing to Kansas on Jan. 25, Texas Tech has gone 3-4 in league play and is 17-9 overall, including 5-9 in the Big 12 … The Red Raiders are coming off back-to-back road losses at Texas and at No. 1 Baylor … TTU led Baylor at halftime but lost 56-51 Saturday … Kierra Mallard paces Texas Tech with 11.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per contest … Casey Morris and Chynna Brown add 9.2 and 8.7 ppg, respectively … Monique Smalls (8.2 ppg) is second in the Big 12 with 2.8 steals per game while the team averages a league-leading 11.0 thefts per outing.

Series History
Kansas defeated then-No. 21 Texas Tech on Jan. 25 to halt a 12-game skid versus the Red Raiders and cut the Jayhawks’ deficit in the all-time series to 14-4. KU has won just once in Lubbock, the teams’ very first meeting on Dec. 2, 1978.

Sutherland Steps Up in Davis’ Absence
Since losing leading scorer Carolyn Davis to injury, senior Aishah Sutherland has become Kansas’ top threat down low. Already leading the team on the boards with 9.3 rebounds per game, Sutherland has turned up her scoring input averaging 18.0 ppg in Davis’ absence. She has also shot better than 56 percent in her last two outings.

Goodrich Approaching School Record
With just eight more assists, Kansas point guard Angel Goodrich will eclipse the program’s single-season assist record which has stood for more than 20 years. Goodrich, who has 200 assists in 2011-12, is on pace to shatter Lisa Braddy’s school record of 207 during the 1987-88 season. One of the best point guards in KU history, Goodrich already became the fifth Jayhawk to ever record at least 400 career assists and she did so faster than any of the previous four players, reaching the milestone in only 58 games.
