Kansas Swimming and Diving Places 13 on Academic All-Big 12 Teams

AUSTIN, Texas –

Thirteen members of the Kansas swimming and siving team were named to the first or second Academic All-Big 12 teams on Wednesday, the league office announced. Of Kansas’ 13 honorees, 10 received first team accolades (3.20 GPA or higher), while three were named to the second team (3.00-3.19 GPA).

Seniors Alyssa Potter and Brittany Potter and junior Sarah Hettenbach recorded perfect 4.00 GPAs. This marks the third-straight year that both Alyssa and Brittany have received Academic All-Big 12 honors with perfect marks in the classroom.

While freshmen and transfer student-athletes are not eligible in their first year of academic residence, eligible student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher, either cumulative or the two previous semesters, and must have participated in 60 percent of his or her team’s scheduled contests.
