Former Kansas Great Sheldon Battle Finishes Fourth at USA Indoor Championships

<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Former University of Kansas track and field great Sheldon Battle took fourth place at the USA Indoor Track & Field Championship Sunday at the Reggie Lewis Track and AthleticCenter in Boston, Mass. The six-time All-American threw a personal-best 66-05 feet (20.24 meters) in the event. During his time at Kansas, Battle was the 2006 Big 12 Conference champion in the indoor shot put and a two-time All-American in the event. He also holds the Kansas record for the outdoor shot put with a put of 68-08.50 feet.
