The Kansas men’s golf team carded a final-round 320 to finish in 11th place at the All-American Golf Classic at the Tradition Course (par-72, 7,220 yards) in Cyrpesswood, Texas. Nate Barbee was the top individual for the Jayhawks after firing a final-round 77 to finish tied for 20th place.

“The golf course played hard today, but we made it look harder than it really was,” said head coach Kit Grove. “It was disappointing to see the guys let the course and conditions get the best of them.” Junior Brandon Hermreck finished his Jayhawk debut by finishing tied for 29th place after carding a final-round 80. Freshman Brad Hopfinger stumbled in the final round, shooting an 85, dropping him to 41st place. Sophomore Bobby Knowles also shot a final-round 85 and finished in 58th place. Junior Walt Koelbel fired a 78 and ended up tied for 59th place. Junior Joey Mundy fired his best round of the year with a final-round 73 and moved up into 57th place. Mundy competed as an individual in the event. Middle Tennessee State overcame a seven-stroke deficit to overtake Arkansas Little-Rock for the team title. Brian Wittle of Arkansas Little-Rock was able to hold onto to medalist honors after shooting a final-round 73. The Jayhawks will next be in action March 10-11 when they travel to Lafayette, La. to compete in the Cajun Classic. Team Leaderboard
