Feb. 26, 2013

LAWRENCE, Kan. – After another round of heavy snow in the Lawrence area Monday night and Tuesday, the Kansas women’s tennis team’s home match against UMKC will now take place on Thursday at 3 p.m.

The match was originally scheduled for Wednesday at the same time. Officials at the University of Kansas cancelled classes on Tuesday due to hazardous travel conditions in the area.

The Jayhawks have defeated UMKC in each of the past six matches between the two teams. Three of the last four were 7-0 shutouts.

Kansas is coming off a 5-2 comeback victory over Drake University on Monday, a day after the Jayhawks’ home match against Kentucky was cancelled due to severe winter weather. UMKC currently holds a 3-6 record in 2013.
