Boonraksasat Leads Kansas Women's Golf on First Day of Sir Pizza Cards Challenge

WESTON, Fla. – Thanuttra Boonraksasat’s four-over-par score of 148 led the Kansas women’s golf team to an eighth place finish after day one at the Sir Pizza Cards Challenge Monday. The Jayhawks head into Tuesday’s final round 38 strokes behind field-leading North Carolina State after the team shot a two-round total of 614 at the par 72, 6106 yard Weston Hills course.
Boonraksasat, a sophomore from Thailand, opened the day by firing an even-par 72 in round one. In round two, she shot a 76 to end the day in a tie for eighth with a score of 148.
Senior Katy Nugent finished the day in a tie for 15th after shooting a two-round total 150. Rounding out the lineup for the Jayhawks was sophomore Meghan Potee (77-81—158, T55), junior Audrey Yowell (79-79—158, T55) and freshman Nadia Luttner (81-82—163). Gabriella DiMarco competed as an individual carding a two-round total of 165 and currently sits in a tie for 74th.
North Carolina State leads Texas State by 15 strokes entering the final round after the Wolfpack shot a two-round total 576. Big 12 foe Missouri sits behind the Jayhawks by just one stroke going into Tuesday’s final round.
