LAWRENCE, Kan. – Members of the Kansas swimming and diving team were honored for their hard work in the classroom last semester, by being named to the Scholar All-America Team list. The list is made up of more than 160 Division One swimming and diving programs and is compiled by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

The Jayhawks earned a 3.02 GPA during fall 2011 and are no stranger to this list, as they wound up on it following their performance in the classroom during spring 2011, when they collectively earned a 3.15 GPA.

KU joined six other current or future Big 12 schools on the list, including Iowa State, Texas, SEC bound Missouri and Texas A&M, as well as future conference members TCU and West Virginia.

The 3.02 GPA Kansas swimmers and divers studied their way to is the exact same as Central Connecticut University and UC Davis’ fall 2011 performance, and is ahead of San Jose State, California-Berkeley and the University of Virginia, who compiled 3.01 grade point averages.

A complete list of Big 12 schools (current and future) who made the grade as well as their team GPA’s can be found below.

Texas 3.24
Iowa State 3.22
West Virginia 3.19
